The Very Beginning

The idea behind JointWinWin.com was born in the early 2000's and the brainchild of myself Tom O'Brien.

It's taken until 2009 to finally get off the ground for a number of reasons, not least of which the enormity of the work involved but also the "scariness factor":

The potential behind the site to help make a difference and change the world we live in is staggering. I've spent quite a few sleepless nights thinking through the implications of all the varying aspects this business has to deal with. If you've ever heard the old joke: "Q. How do you eat an elephant? A. One bite at a time", well, you get the idea ;-)

Start Up - The first bite

In November 2007, I read a book called "The Art of the Start" by Guy Kawasaki (highly recommended read for entrepreneurs btw) and was inspired to overcome the enormity of the task ahead and get going. To paraphrase from the book - "...It's not how great you start, but how great you end up".

With this advice ringing in my ears, I undertook a lot of work (along with "my day job" as an entreprenuer training people in Business Process Modelling) to get to the stage you see before you today.

There has been no outside investment and in line with the advice dispensed by business luminaries such as Guy Kawasaki and Seth Godin, this business is "bootstrapped".

As a result, on launch day, there is yours truly dealing with everything associated with the site. In due course, and in line with the bootstrapping model, I will get help before I need psychiatric help!

So, bear with me as together, we build this site one business at a time to ensure as consumers,

Whatever, whenever, whereever you buy. YOU make a difference.

JointWinWin TomThis idea IMHO (In My Humble Opinion) is just TOO important and needs the support of businesses and consumers across the globe alike.

Help me with JointWinWin change the world we live in one purchase at a time and please contact me if you have any questions.

Although I have had the idea and put in the work, I would never have gotten this far without the help and support of my wife Tracy. So henceforth,  I will call myself a co-founder.
