Geographic categories

The directory categorisation structure is very much a work in progress and at the time of launch there were 31,018 categories to list in. There are issues in terms of scalability with the directory were we to include geo-location category specific information for every type of business category (we would have a directory with tens, potentially hundreds of millions of categories).

Therefore, categories will only have full drill down geo-location information for the most often used/frequently visited. Initially, we have included detailed geo-location categories for restaurants in the UK (by town/county breakdown) and in the US (by state/city/town breakdown for towns with populations greater than 40,000,000 inhabitants).
